Treasury Gardens
The small and peaceful Treasury Gardens form part of the network of city gardens which include Fitzroy Gardens, Carlton Gardens, and Kings Domain. Nestled right on the edge of Melbourne’s CBD between Spring street and Treasury Place, this picturesque garden was developed in the 1860’s to complement the Victorian Parliamentary buildings to the north. Today the gardens provide a peaceful respite from the fast paced city streets. Serendipity adore this Heritage Listed garden and recognise its unique list of features: such as an abundance of native trees, 19th century path design and an ornamental pond, which render it distinct from other nearby gardens.
The landscaped gardens boast large areas of lush lawn, and mature tree species including Moreton Bay Figs and River Red Gums. The abundant variations of greens are perfect for close up photos during the day, the leafy foliage of the grand trees filter soft dappled light, giving the ceremony and captured scenes a highly romantic feel. The user friendly gardens also feature some stunning sculptures and monuments including the Robert Burns memorial, a monument to President John F. Kennedy and a memorial statue of Sir William Clarke. Serendipity recommend the Treasury Gardens as a wonderfully picturesque option either for an outdoor ceremony (perfect during the Summer and Autumn months) or as a convenient alfresco location between other city venues such as Parliament House, the Winsdor Hotel and Collins Street.
