Mitchelton Wines — after a bit of searching Mitchelton Winery ticked all the boxes — Great wine, great food, stunning scenery, a house on location for the girls to get ready and a flexible, easy going function coördinator MaryLou Geddes who was very accommodating to all of our requests. We really liked that we were able to have a late finish rather than the standard 11:30 p.m.

Being just outside of Nagambie meant that for the vast majority of our guests, the wedding was a weekend away; however the travel back to Melbourne was possible if required. The food on the night was fantastic — even better than our tastings, the steak was superb. The serving sizes were generous and the wait service excellent. We received several comments, from some fairly harsh food critics, that it was the best wedding food that they had ever had.

We got married up the tower at Mitchelton, which, with its stunning panoramic views of the vineyard and river, was a pretty unique spot to get married. The ceremony was made extra special by writing our own vows which were kept secret form each other until the day; a delightful celebrant Carolyn Gazenvoort and beautiful music from the Zelwood string quartet.

Andrew and I have no hesitation in recommending Mitchelton Winery with Marylou and her team for a wedding reception/ ceremony.
