Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel is an outstanding and historic location in Melbourne, built when railways were the jetliners of the day, and were intrinsically linked with prestige. Some rooms in The Grand feature  high ceilings and mezzanines that offer plenty of opportunities for creative photography, and tall curtained windows great for portraiture. The foyer has a glorious set of double stairs that are fantastic for wedding photography.

A couple of tips for wedding photography at the Grand, which is usually fantastic any time in the afternoon: wedding photographs against the building, especially in Autumn when the fallen leaves make beautiful backdrops.

The outside is hardly a well-kept wedding photography location secret, and is much loved by wedding photographers for its bold and opulent design. At a pinch it can serve as a good location for a shoot in the rain under the cover of the classic Victorian doorways.
